The Alfa Spider is a car for those who long for open spaces, immense skies and the wind through their hair. For those who can savour the thrill of driving an open top car the Alfa Spider offers the most exclusive pleasure a motorist can ever ask for: mastery of the road. The credit goes to a highly sophisticated uncompromising engineering process. Steering is extremely accurate and the suspension - high wishbones at the front for maximum lateral stability providing excellent responsive handling and Multilink at the rear, for effortless maneuvering - is a jewel of cutting-edge technology. Active safety was of paramount importance on the Alfa Spider. This means road-holding, braking power and full control of the vehicle’s dynamic behaviour. These results have been achieved by adopting a number of safety devices as standard, including: ABS with EBD, VDC for stability control, ASR to prevent the wheels slipping, MSR that steps in during sudden down shifting in poor grip conditions and HILL HOLDER that facilitates uphill starting.

Advanced Safety

To protect both the driver and passenger, the Alfa Spider is fitted with five airbags as standard including a driver's knee airbag (the driver and passenger front airbags have two-stage activation). Not only that, but thanks to the high torsional rigidity of the bodyshell (built with high-strength steel, dual-phase steel and multi-layer laser welded plate) the vehicle is built on a strong chassis which leads to improved driveability, better performance and greater safety.
